I ran the USATF State Cross Country Championships today. It was a 4k. MoMo, Stevie, and William all ran before me. MoMo got second place in the 2K. Stevie got 7th in the 3K. He would have been 5th but he got lost at the end. I think William got 7th place. He ran 11:14 in the 3K. My race was next. As soon as the race started I got right behind Cole Jamison. McKay Wells was with us but dropped back after a bit more than 1K. I was having a hard time even before 1K, but I managed to keep pushing. I dropped back from Cole after about 2K. I'm not really sure what was wrong, but I just didn't feel very good. 3rd place was gaining on me for the rest of the race. With about 200 meters to go, he was right on my tail. But I managed to hold him off. I ended up with 13:54. Pretty good, a whole minute faster than last year. Dad, JoJo, and Benjamin ran the 5K. Benjamin got 2nd with 15:53. JoJo was ahead of Dad, he ran 18:40 or so, Dad ran around 18:50. I'm pretty happy with my race.
