I ran the Thanksgiving 4 miler today. I started out with Dad and JoJo. The target pace was 23:00. I felt pretty good for the first 2 miles. We ran 5:38 for the first mile and then had 11:25 at 2 miles. My lungs hurt a little but nothing too bad. At 2 miles I pulled away from Dad and JoJo followed me. Then at around 2.5 my back and my heart starting hurting. I didn't slow down too much though, my next mile was 6:00. I realized that I was behind pace, so I speed up a little. JoJo passed me somewhere around half a mile to go and I couldn't pass him back. My last mile was 5:50, and my total time was 23:15. I was a little ahead of David Taylor and JoJo was 3 seconds ahead of me. He got first in his age division. I got first in the 12-14 age division and won a turkey. Didn't feel super worn out after the race. Then the younger kids raced. Leigha ran(more like walked) the 100 meters. She didn't win but did fairly well considering she broke her ankle a month ago. I ran with Bella in the 400 meters for ages 3-4. She was a bit behind first place at the start but pulled ahead of everyone, including the boys, at about 100 meters. Near the finish Bella got passed by the first place boy. She beat all the girls and got a turkey. Next was MiMi and MoMo's race, the half mile. I ran with MoMo and Dad. MoMo started out very fast with a 37 second first 200. He was ahead of 2nd place by at least 20 seconds and ran 2:58. MiMi got second place in the girl's division with 3:54. She earned a pie. William and Stevie raced the mile next. William won with 5:48. Stevie was first in his division and ran 6:05, but he got chicked. Our total turkey count was 10. With Dad, Mom, Benjamin, Julia, JoJo, Me, William, Stevie, MoMo, and Bella all winning turkeys.
